Episode 3: A Crooked Mile Walkthrough

A Crooked Mile is the branching investigation. After Lily's funeral, where Snow gives the speech, you choose a first stop: Dee's office, Crane's apartment, or the Trip Trap. The order changes which evidence survives Bluebeard's search. Jack is at Crane's apartment; Flycatcher is at the Tweedles' office. Later, choose whether to burn Greenleaf's tree and whether to kill or spare Dum.

The three doors

For the investigation, Crane's apartment contains Jack and the Headless Horseman statue. Dee's office contains Flycatcher. Gamepressure says Bluebeard searches the other location and can destroy evidence there; picking the Trip Trap first leaves his movements outside your control. PowerPyx recommends Crane's apartment, inspecting the statue, then Dee's office and talking to Flycatcher for the collection route. These location details come from Gamepressure and PowerPyx; their navigation headings are not extra in-game chapters.

At the funeral, do not interrupt if you want the card on the left-hand table. PowerPyx lists that card, the statue, the Flycatcher conversation, the burn-or-keep tree, and a bookshelf entry as the misses.

Questions people actually search

Which location should I visit first?

Any. The story rejoins. The searches do not, so achievement hunters revisit.

Does the tree matter?

It changes a Book entry. The guides do not describe a different ending from it.
