Remaster, not a remake

The Wolf Among Us Remastered vs the Original

The plot, the dialogue, and the choices are the 2013 case. What changed is the presentation and a stack of extras: Noir Mode, five playable deleted scenes, more than 100 pieces of art, and more than 60 minutes of behind-the-scenes video. IGN's review says this is a remaster, not a remake. Telltale uses the same words.

Do not call it a remake

A remake can retain a story, so the plot alone does not define the label. This release is marketed as a remaster. PlayStation Blog says the team kept the story, direction, and overall art style while rebuilding the craft under it. IGN's 8/10 review uses the sentence 'this is a remaster, not a remake.'

Skip claims of 4K, a locked 60 frames, DLSS, or Unreal Engine 5 for this game. The sequel is the Unreal Engine 5 project. The remaster's own technical line is resolution and frame-rate improvements, without a published spec sheet of those numbers.

Questions people actually search

Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered a remake?

No. The story and choices are the original. The pictures, sound, and extras are new.

What is actually new?

Noir Mode, five deleted scenes, a large art gallery, and more than an hour of making-of video, plus rebuilt models and lighting.

Should I replay it?

If you want the extras or the owner discount, yes. If you only want the plot, you already have it.
